2013 Registration Information
Registration for the 2013 Fall soccer season opens on April 1, 2013.
Please read all the information on this page and then click here to register online.
Participation is open to all players from ages 5-18. Parents who wish to volunteer to coach should register themselves as coaches.

IMPORTANT!! Beginning in 2012, SYSA separated the cost of travel team uniforms from the registration fee.
If you bought a travel team uniform in 2012 you can continue to use it for the 2013 season.
All new U10+ players must order a travel team uniform by selecting the "Uniform" option during registration. The Uniform Fee includes a travel team jersey and one pair of socks.
Anyone else needing to replace their uniform for any reason can do so by ordering one online during registration. Additional/replacement socks can also be ordered online by adding them to your cart.
Fees for the 2013 season
Registration Fee U6 $60.00 (includes T-shirt and socks)
Registration Fee U8+ $60.00 (April 1 - April 30) Early Registration
$70.00 (May 1 - June 30) Normal Registration
$95.00 (July 1 - Aug 15)* Late Registration - team placement will be on a best-effort basis.
Uniform Fee U10+ $25.00 (includes jersey and socks)
Socks only (if needed) $5.00
Note - black shorts are not included and must be purchased separately.
Team Formation and Special Team Requests
Teams are formed through double-blind drafts with the goal of creating teams that are fair and balanced by age and ability. Requests for children to be placed on specific teams are honored only in cases of siblings or coach's children.
Requests to play out of an age group
Playing up or down an age group requires a waiver from the SYSA Board (U6/U8) or the WAYSA/MAYS league (U10+).
Waivers requesting to play up are much more likely to be granted than waivers requesting to play down. U10 means "Under 10" (as of August 1st of whatever year we are talking about) so a child who turns 8 on August 3rd would just miss the cut-off for U10 and technically be a U8 player. But most of his/her classmates will have birthdays are before August 1st making them all U10s. Since the almost 8 yr old child is still "Under 10" he/she would likely be allowed to play up with classmates. A child who is already 10 years old as of August 1st however cannot be considered "under 10" (no matter how you do the math) and would not likely be granted a waiver. Requests to play out of town
Playiing for a team in a town other than where you live requires a waiver from both towns as well as permission from the league(s). If you live in Sterling and would like to request a waiver for your child to play on a team in another town or, if you live in another town and would like to request a waiver for your child to play in Sterling please use the "Contact Us" tab to initiate the waiver process.
Refunds
Registration fees are fully refundable, less a $15.00 administrative fee, prior to September 1st. After September 1st refund requests must be approved by the Sterling Youth Soccer Association Board of Directors.
Full refunds are granted only in special cases such as a family moving out of town, or a season-ending injury occurring before September 1st.
Uniform fees will only be refunded if the uniform is returned before Sept 1st in "new” condition.
Requests for refunds must be made in writing by the parent or legal guardian by e-mail to registrar.sterling@gmail.com
